An employee of an Inverness food and clothing store, who died suddenly while working, has been described as a "friend to many".

Isabel Stewart MacDonald (64), of Dunain Road, was an employee of Marks and Spencer and took ill while working in the shop at the Eastgate centre on September 26.

Her funeral will take place on October 14 at John Fraser & Son, in Chapel Street, before going to Kilvean Cemetery.

According to a family notice, she was a "beloved sister of Roderick (Roddy), a dear aunt, cousin and sister-in-law. Colleague, friend to many and staff member over many years at Marks and Spencer, Inverness and Perth."

Donations for the Salvation Army will be collected at the service.

The death is not being treated as suspicious by police.

Following her death, a spokesman for M&S said: “Sadly a colleague at our Inverness store passed away suddenly.

"Our thoughts are with her family, friends and colleagues at this very sad time.”
