A ROSS-SHIRE teenager has been taken under the wing of a Scottish singing sensation with whom he has already duetted at an iconic Highland venue.

At the tender age of 13, James Macgillivray has been performing and busking for years, most recently entertaining customers outside a restaurant in Strathpeffer.

The Dingwall Academy pupil has also performed with Callum Beattie during the star's sold out show at Strathpeffer Pavilion.

And the budding young singer/songwriter has now been taken on by Beattie, who has just set up a new management company.

He is currently juggling his school life at Dingwall Academy and his music career.

James’ mother, Miranda Macgillivray said: “This means so much to us because we know this is what James was born to do.

"He has had a guitar since he was two and just loves to perform to people and make them smile. This is definitely a dream come true for James.” James added: “I am super excited. Thank you so much for this opportunity of a lifetime!”

Callum Beattie used his social media pages to state: "2021 was very busy for us, but as well as working on my music, Dave and I also set up a wee production/management/media company, which allows us to also develop and work on other projects.

"Now that all the contracts etc are signed, we are delighted to announce that we have made our first official signing. If anyone was at Strathpeffer, you’ll know how insanely talented Wee James is. So much so, that Dave and I have signed his worldwide management.

"BIG things will be happening with him starting in 2022. Welcome aboard the madness wee man!!!"
