ONE of Ross-shire's most iconic landmarks has made an unmistakable statement of solidarity which has touched people across the world.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine has sparked outrage and messages of solidarity from around the world as President Vladimir Putin finds himself increasingly isolated of the global stage.

Eilean Donan Castle in Lochalsh is amongst the latest to show its support with a spectacular light display relicating the now familiar blue and yellow colours of Ukraine's flag.

Posting a photograph to its Twitter account, it simply stated: "We stand with Ukraine."

Charmaine Hodgson was moved to tweet: "That is one of the most beautiful photos I have ever seen on @Twitter if not the most. I sincerely hope that Russia and Ukraine can come a compromise soon before more bloodshed and devastation occurs. Heartbreaking."
