The annual show and sale of pedigree luing cattle was judged by Reece Simmers, Backmuir, Keith. It was described as "an outstanding show of quality". The champion prize was awarded to a pair of heifers from Messrs McCall, Culmaily. Davidson Animal Feeds who sponsored the show.

Vendors were greeted with a bonanza of a trade which saw the bulling heifer average record an outstanding increase of £431 on the year. Consignments with the traditional 'Luing' prefix in their pedigree "met a brisk and erratic enquiry for both the females and the breeding bulls".
