In calf heifers (2) sold £1,500 for a Beef Shorthorn from Rurach Croft, Inverinate.

Heifer with male calf (41) sold to £3,000 for a Limousin cross cow with a Limousin cross calf at foot from Wester Bleaton Farm, Bridge of Cally.

Heifer with female calf (53) sold to £3,000 for a Simmental cow with a Simmental calf at foot from Wellhouse, Beauly.

In calf cows (25) sold to £1,550 gross for a Aberdeen Angus from 138 Strathtongue, Lairg.

Cow with male calf (21) sold to £2,600 for a Simmental from Wellhouse, Beauly.

Cow with female calf (20) sold to £2,400 gross for a Limousin cross from 67 Balvraid, Dornoch.

Bulls (12) sold to £5,500 gross for a Limousin from 4 Bualnaluib, Aultbea.

The verdict: “Strong quality units were great to sell to a packed ringside from all over the north. Despite ever increasing costs in the industry, trade would be sharper on the corresponding sale last year. The bull department didn’t disappoint either being late in the day with many intending purchasers going home empty handed.”
