Three Highland SFRS crews sent to wildfire at Glencanisp in Sutherland

FIRE crews from Ullapool were amongst those dispatched to a wildfire in Assynt this afternoon.
The incident at Glencanisp in Sutherland was called in to the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service at 12.36pm this afternoon.
It came amidst blustery conditions with a fierce wind whipping across much of the north-west Highands at the time.

It's understood the blaze spread quickly towards Brackloch.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said units from Ullapool and Lairg were sent to the scene with a total of three appliances attending.
It's understood they left the area by around 5pm.
The extent of damage is not known at time of writing.
There were reports of fierce gusts across Ross-shire today and a number of trees down from the Black Isle to Mid and Wester Ross. One reader reported "crazy gale force winds" in Invergordon and another "massive gusts" in the Dingwall area. Others reported stormy conditions in Bonar Bridge, Portmahomack and Lochinver.
