Prolonged and torrential rain ahead of an informal ploughing and cultivation day failed to spoil the event held near the Highland capital.

It was held in a large stubble field at Daviot which had dried up overnight and proved to be the ideal venue.

The perfect weather throughout the day made for fine ploughing conditions, according to the organisers.

It was organised by members of Strathnairn Farmers Association Vintage Rally Committee and a spokesman said: “About 24 enthusiastic participants, some from as far afield as Ullapool, Forres and Pitmedden, enjoyed the opportunity to display their skills with vintage and classic tractors and ploughs.”

He added that they wanted to thank Daviot Estate for use of the field.
