Funeral of Highland much-loved Highland gentleman Hamish Menzies will take place in Dingwall tomorrow, Friday

THE funeral details of a Gaelic champion have been announced.
Hamish Menzies, who was given the Freedom of Dingwall in 2008 for his service to the town, will be laid to rest at Mitchell Hill Cemetery tomorrow, Friday.
Mr Menzies was the conductor of Dingwall Gaelic Choir more than 35 years, and inspired many into Gaelic singing and choral music.
A funeral notice read: "It is with great sadness that the family announce the unexpected passing of Hamish Menzies on Monday, August 23, 2021.
"A beloved husband to Janet, father to John and Kirsteen, father-in-law to Jamie, grandad to James, Benjamin, Finlay and Hector, and a very dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle and friend to many.
"He will be sorely missed. Funeral service at St Clements Parish Church, Dingwall, on Friday, September 3 2021, at 10am, and thereafter to Mitchell Hill Cemetery, to which all friends are respectfully invited."
A separate notice to Gaelic choristers reads: "The family would like to invite all Gaelic Choristers who knew and loved ‘Dad’, and who are able to attend, to join the Black Isle Gaelic Choir in the singing of Athchuinge at the internment. This will be conducted by Hamish’s fellow conductor and dear friend, Kenny Thomson. "
Donations in lieu of flowers are invited to local charities in memory of Mr Menzies.
