EasyJet cancelled two flights between Inverness and London.

Airline EasyJet has apologised for inconvenience caused to passengers after flights between Inverness and London were cancelled due to severe weather.

A flight from Luton to Inverness did not operate yesterday while this morning's flight due to leave for Gatwick at 7.05am was cancelled.

Today's British Airways flight from Inverness to Heathrow at 7am was also cancelled.

A spokesman for EasyJet said: "Due to the severe weather conditions hitting the south of the UK and much of Europe, EasyJet, like all airlines operating to and from the UK, was asked to reduce yesterday's flying programme.

"As a result, flight EZY625 from Luton to Inverness yesterday was unable to operate as planned.

"Due to the knock on impact we had to take the decision to cancel flight EZY846 between Inverness and Gatwick today and notified customers in advance to help rearrange their plans.

"We are did all possible to minimise the impact on our customers, providing those on cancelled flights with options to rebook or receive a refund as well as hotel accommodation and meals where required.

"The safety and wellbeing of customers and crew is EasyJet’s highest priority and while this is outside of our control, we would like to apologise to customers for the inconvenience caused."
