AN Easter Ross woman who lost her nephew to cot death is taking on a 100-mile cycle in his memory.
Sinead Stoltman (25) plans to take on the challenge over the weekend of August 30/31, with some help from her sister-in-law Nikki Stoltman. She hopes to raise £300 for the Scottish Cot Death Trust.
Mrs Stoltman, from Alness, is married to one half of the World’s Strongest Brothers, Tom Stoltman. Mrs Stoltman has done various fundraising activities for the Scottish Cot Death Trust, including raffling a weight lifting plate from a Games of Thrones TV star.
She is supporting her sister, Sandie Bell, and her family after the death of her nephew Maximus, who passed away at the beginning of the year.
Maximus died suddenly in January at only eight-months old, due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) commonly known as cot death.
Mrs Stoltman said: “The Scottish Cot Death trust, have done so much to support my sister-in-law, her husband Ryan Bell and their two older kids Alexandra and Malcolm that we decided to give back to the trust.
“We really want to raise funds to help find a cure or anything that will save another baby’s life.” She added: “Between June and July my sister and I were raising funds in memory of my nephew Maximus who grew his wings at the start of this year at almost eight months. I have decided to continue by doing a 100-mile cycle. Any donations will be amazing.”
