A RAFFLE to raise money for a cot-death charity has got one ‘giant’ prize.

World’s Strongest Man contender, Tom Stoltman and wife Sinéad have been given a special metal weight lifting plate by Thor Hafthor Björnsson – the Game of Thrones star who played The Mountain in the hit TV series.

Mr Stoltman, from Alness, said he was humbled by the support his family have been given after the loss of his nephew to cot death.

Mr Stoltman said: “My wife Sinéad and her sister Sandie Bell have been doing a fundraiser in memory of my nephew Maximus, who sadly passed away in January at only eight-months old, due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) commonly know as cot death. The Scottish Cot Death trust, have done so much to support my sister-in-law, her husband Ryan Bell and their two older kids Alexandra and Malcolm that we decided to give back to the trust.

“We really want to raise funds to help find a cure or anything that will save another baby’s life.”

He continued: “The girls started off the fundraising by making dream-catchers and wax melts. They then decided to do raffles, and we are very thankful for all the donations we have been given from local and small businesses.”

Mrs Stoltman said: “We raffled T-shirts from Tom and Luke and realised just how popular they were. So I then decided to reach out to other strongmen who might be willing to help.

“Rob Kearney from the USA donated a signed World Strongest Man T-shirt along with five signed photos! Thor Hafthor Björnsson a previous World Strongest Man, who holds the title for the heaviest deadlift ever set, and now a Game of Thrones star, reached out and said he would love to donate a signed 25kg plate from his latest World Record dead lift of 501kg! We were delighted to accept.

A raffle is being held to win of one of 'Mountain's' weightlifting plates.

“We plan to raffle off the 25kg plate at £10 per ticket. The raffle will take place on Facebook at ‘In Memory of Maximus’ or non-Facebook users can find me on instagram @sineadstoltman or email tulloch47@gmail.com”

She said: “We are very excited to see the end total of the funds we raised in memory of our little Maxi.”
