Public consultation over Invergordon Distillery expansion proposals flagged by Whyte & Mackay
AN Easter Ross distillery has flagged up a public consultation over a proposed new malt facility.
Whyte & Mackay is isssuing an invitation to the public to find out more about its plans.
In information shared by Invergordon Community Council, it said: "We are undertaking a public consultation to present our plans for the development of a new malt distillery on the site of the old cooperage at Invergordon Distillery.
"We are inviting members of the local community and other stakeholders to review our proposal. As well as being able to view our plans, members of the project team will be available to discuss the proposals in further detail."
The public consultation will take place in the distillery's Old Canteen, via the main security gate at Golfview Terrace, Cottage Brae, Invergordon, from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, November 30, it says.
It was reported earlier in the year that the expasnion is in response to growing global demand for single malt whisky.
The company said then that the Scotch whisky business requires "very long-term planning" by its nature.
