AN Easter Ross community will this afternoon throw the spotlight on its own Earth Day celebrations with creative activities for the whole family to get involved in.

The Sunday (April 23) event runs from 1-4pm and is centred around the Jubilee Hall in Evanton.

Evanton Community Trust, in collaboration with a number of other groups and individuals, aims to bring people together to celebrate life and the planet.

The trust said: “Recent events have brought us together as a community and made us realise just how much we care about the planet, and that we have a lot of creative approaches to tackling climate change and harmful waste to share with everyone interested. Come along to find out.

“For example through the reuse of materials, foraging and eating locally, planting more seeds and bee friendly flowers, cycling, getting out in nature and doing art to reconnect. Evanton Community Trust invites families and all ages to join in the fun.

“Addressing our impact on the planet is the most important topic of our times and thankfully it’s fun too when collaborating with partners.”

Planned are creative activities for everyone. These include Tetrapak printing and an upcycling workshop; a scavenger hunt in the woods; a Dr Bike bike check with Highland Bike Academy; a plant sale; stalls; scones/soup/teas/coffees.
