AN Easter Ross cafe is gearing up to reopen after closing last year "with a very heavy heart".

Grounded in Alness has pencilled in a re-opening date of May 18, it said this week.

It posted: "It is highly likely that things will be very much as they were before Christmas. Track and trace remains, as does social distancing. As it stands, tables will only be allowed a combination of up to four people (under 12s are not counted) from up to two separate households.

"We will reopen with a new cafe manager in situ - a highly experienced person who brings many years of working in quality restaurants and eateries throughout Scotland."

The opening date and further details will be confirmed in due course.

The Obsdale Road cafe closed back in November last year citing "very challenging" conditions but did say then it hoped to reopen this spring.
