A BACK road between Dingwall and Evanton will be partially closed for several days next week to enable tree felling to take place.

The road closure order applies to a section of the U4444 in Dingwall, and will be in place from 8am on Monday until 5pm on Friday, June 12.

The section which will be closed extends from the U4444 junction with Deas Avenue and runs 500 metres to the north-east and its junction with Tulloch Avenue.

“The temporary closure is to allow contractors to carry out tree felling work on behalf of Highland Council safely,” said a council spokesman.

“The trees marked for removed are all diseased Elm trees which are dead and getting dangerous as they are starting to fall down on the road.

“Access for pedestrian, residents and emergency vehicles will be maintained. Alternative routes for all other road users will be available via Tulloch Avenue, the A862 and A834.”
