A WORK programme to remove diseased trees in several areas around Dingwall has been agreed.

Dingwall and Seaforth councillor Graham Mackenzie says the timing of the work is subject to change given the coronavirus lockdown and that at certain stages road closures will be necessary but will be notified in advance.

He said agreement has been reached with the Woodland Trust "to allow for a certain amount of replanting".

The work is being carried out in phases by Apex Trees and Logie Timber.

Cllr Mackenzie acknowledged some concerns raised over the nesting season but said it had not been possible to do the work before now and that public safety is paramount.

Work is due to begin at Maggie's Wood and will also take in areas around Dingwall Leisure Centre, Docharty Road, Strathpeffer Road, Eastend Wood, Craig Wood and Bruce Avenue.
