Alness police appeal after accident damaged Vauxhall Astra car reported stolen from Easter Ross road close to the A9

POLICE have issued an appeal after an accident-damaged car was reported stolen close to the busiest road running through Ross-shire.

Police say that between 7am yesterday morning and 1am this morning (Thursday), a silver collision-damaged Vauxhall Astra 5-door car was stolen from Teaninich Avenue, Alness, adjacent to Fyrish Drive and the A9 road.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Anyone with any information in relation to the incident, or the identity of the supect/s, is asked to contact police on 101 quoting reference number CR/0125120/22." Alternatively, information can be passed on anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111.
