69mph-plus winds prompt CalMac Ullapool-Stornoway ferry cancellation

A MAJOR ferry operator running a link between Ullapool and Stornoway has cancelled a planned departure today and axed several scheduled tomorrow due to weather warnings.

CalMac has cancelled its 5:30pm sailing from Ullapool today (Tuesday) due to adverse weather.

It posted: "This is in relation to strong winds in excess of 69mph."

And it has also taken the precaution of cancelling three scheduled sailings tomorrow (Wednesday) against the backdrop of a weather warning for strong wind.

Those affected tomorrow are:

  • Departing Stornoway - 07:00
  • Departing Ullapool - 10:30
  • Departing Stornoway – 14:00
