STRONGMAN brothers from Easter Ross have been hailed for putting Invergordon on the map and acting as ambassadors for Ross-shire.

Members of the Easter Ross area committee praised "inspirational," brothers Tom and Luke Stoltman for their outstanding achievements in the Scottish, UK and World Strongman competitions.

Chairman of the committee, Cllr Fiona Robertson, and Cromarty Firth councillor Cllr Maxine Smith, presented the brothers with an inscribed quaich in recognition of their success.

Tom Stoltman won the 2021 World’s Strongest Man Competition in Sacramento, USA, in June this year, becoming the first competitor from Scotland to win the competition.

His brother Luke has also been recognised for his successes, having been crowned Scotland’s Strongest Man five times.

Cllr Robertson said the pair had very much put Invergordon “on the map,” and added: “Cllr Smith and I were honoured to present Tom and Luke with a small token of appreciation on behalf of Members of the Committee and the people of Easter Ross.

“They are truly remarkable men, and it was lovely to meet them, along with some members of their family.”

She added: “They are truly an inspiration to all of us and are such wonderful ambassadors for the Highlands and Easter Ross.”
