THE scene is set for a day of nostalgia and the sharing and recording of memories at an historic Black Isle venue this weekend.

Resolis Memorial Hall has been a central part of the community on the peninsula for over 60 years.

Resolis Community Arts is now 20 years old and as a part of its celebrations is inviting past and present members of the community to a free drop-in day to hear and record stories of memorable times or events at the hall.

The Resolis Memories day runs on Saturday, February 24 from 10 am to 5pm.

The invitation from organisers is: "Bring your photos of a favourite event and tell us about it or record it, discuss it with friends or write about it. Or just come along and reminisce whilst having a cup of tea and cake. If you live in the area but have never attended hall events, you are welcome to come and join in.

"You might get to hear some brilliant stories from the many events that have taken place here such as the infamous Dance Till Dawns!"

This will include capturing voice recordings, written memories and discussing stories.

Tea, coffee and baking will be provided by Black Isle Berries.

Organisers have some photographs being put up for display but are encouraging past and present members of the community to bring more. These might be from an event or group – such as the Millennium, CRU Club, WRI, primary school plays "and everything else in between!"

The group said: "We have done our best to put up posters, send out flyers and share on social media but we are aware that as a widespread community, we might not have reached everyone.

"If you know of anyone who would be interested in this event, please help us reach them by sharing this with them or by messaging us on here with suggestions of anyone else we could invite.

"If you know someone who is unable to attend but would like to share some photographs, newspaper clippings or stories, we encourage you to email us at resoliscommunityarts@gmail.com or message us to arrange something."
