BLACK Isle bookworms are being congratulated on completing the summer reading challenge at two libraries on the peninsula.

Fortrose and Cromarty Libraries were amongst those taking part in the event which helps encourage young people maintain their reading habit over the summer holidays.

They are invited to get through a set number of titles, often around a particular theme. This year's was Wild World Heroes.

The libraries posted: "Congratulations to all the children who completed the Summer Reading Challenge 2021! A wonderful achievement. Although we are not able to have our usual big get together this year, you do still get a lovely medal and certificate."

It added: "Why not pop in and pick up something from our new RED display, see if they're as exciting as they look?"

It says the library is fully open now and browsers can come in any time and for as long asthey like during opening hours without an appointment.

Appointments are however needed for PC use which can be arranged with an advance phone call.

They also offer printing and photocopying services.
