A Scottish Fire & Rescue Service (SFRS) spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 1.19am on Sunday, August 13 to reports of a fire within a derelict building on Newton Road, Dingwall.
"Operations Control mobilised four appliances to the scene where the fire was extinguished.
"There were no reported casualties and crews left at 5.18am."
Jayne Munro, who owns the property with her husband, said: "The house wasn’t being used. It was derelict and we were waiting for a contractor to clear the site. But the fire was very close to another home in Newton Road.
"Thankfully, the resident was away when the fire started which she was very glad about as it would have been very frightening for her."
The incident has been reported to Police Scotland.
Ms Munro, who shared pictures of the destroyed house on Facebook, is appealing for anyone with information on what might have started the fire to contact Police Scotland, quoting incident number CR/15138/23.
Police Scotland have been contacted for comment.
