The High Street in Alness enjoyed a double celebration after picking up wins at Scotland’s Business Awards 2022.

The Station Hotel won the best hotel category and the Fyrish Tandoori Restaurant picked up the prize for best takeaway at the awards ceremony in Glasgow.

Both had previously gained success at the regional heats in April for the Highland area.

Station Hotel proprietor Billy Munro said: “I couldn’t believe it when two businesses from the same village won the regional awards but even more amazing, could scoop the two national awards.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported us and of course the amazing Station Hotel staff.”

Fyrish Tandoor took to its social media as it picked up the prize, saying: “We only went and won best takeaway in Scotland.

“What an achievement. This wouldn’t have been possible without all the fantastic support from all you amazing people.

“Fyrish Tandoor is what it is because of all of you and I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

“I am so completely overwhelmed.”
