A832 blocked by fallen tree on the Fain in Wester Ross as Storm Gerrit hits

A fallen tree on Dundonnell's A832 Fain road has blocked vehicles from passing on the road.

The fallen tree was first noted at approximately 9.30am this morning. Despite attempts by locals to cut the tree so vehicles can pass by, the tree is said to be still blocking the road as of 11.30am.

Local drivers have recommended taking the A832 route through Achnasheen as an alternative option.

Police Scotland have been notified about the issue.

With a yellow weather warning from the Met Office for Storm Gerrit on Wednesday, December 27, impacts have been seen across the Highlands.

Storm Gerrit has resulted in hundreds of homes reportedly being left without power in the Highlands on Wednesday morning, as well as a number of railway services also hit.
