Joseph Hungbo says the way Ross County came from behind to beat St Johnstone 3–1 on Saturday made it their best result of the season so far.

The Staggies fell behind to a Callum Hendry header midway through the first half.

But Ross County stormed back with Regan Charles-Cook equalising before giving them the lead in the second half.

Hungbo then fired a thunderous low drive past Elliot Parish from the edge of the box to make it 3–1 with the Saints never threatening to reduce the deficit.

Hungbo says after a slow start, their response from coming from behind was their best display of the campaign so far.

He said: “100 per cent it is our best result of the season.

“Even when they got their goal we still kept it going and kept it moving.

“That is what comes with persistence and it gave us the result.

“But now we need to keep coming up with the results.

“We have only been beaten at home once in our last nine games and there is a reason for that.

“We have a solid squad and even when we are behind we just kept focussed.

“In this game, you have to be ruthless, there were a lot of chances to score but the important thing was we were creating those chances.

“As long as we take them, and we score more than our opponent that is all that matters.

“Whether it is 1–0 or 4–0 it doesn’t matter, getting the three points is all that matters.”

Ross County are seven points clear of the relegation zone in 10th place, an incredible achievement considering they failed to win their first 10 games.

Hungbo says the confidence was always in the squad that when things clicked, they had a team of picking up positive results.

“Even in the first 10 games, we were playing so well but things weren’t falling for us.

“All it takes is one game, we kept to the same script and fundamental and we just want to get the results.

“I feel like we have got together, got to grips to things and we are hard to beat.

“We need to make sure that continues in the rest of the season.
