JORDAN White says Ross County deserve huge credit for turning their season around and going into the winter break out of the relegation zone.

Despite the 2–1 defeat at Hearts on Boxing Day, they remain in 10th place, two ahead of Dundee in 11th and four ahead of bottom of the table St Johnstone.

After spending the majority of the campaign at the bottom of the table, County have managed to pick up 15 points from their last 10 games.

They have also scored 27 goals, with only the top three teams in the division having scored more than the Staggies this season.

Despite a slow start to the campaign, White says the squad were always confident that they could turn things around.

Now they will look to push further up the table during the second half of the campaign.

“We were always confident that things would turn and we didn’t want to stop,” said White.

“We wanted to keep moving up because we really think we can have a good second half of the season and make a real impact in the league.

“Through the full team, even from the back, we are clicking when we are going forward.

“We are not relying on one person going forward, everyone is chipping in and giving everything.

“We always believe we will score, I don’t think there are many games where we think we are not going to get a result.”

White felt Ross County shot themselves in the foot in the first half against Hearts conceding two goals.

The Staggies were the better the team in the second half and felt they should have taken chances to at least get a point.

“The biggest regret is in the first half we weren’t at it,” admitted White.

“It is the first time in a number of weeks we haven’t been at it.

“We came out in the second half and done really well, but the first half is a bit of a regret but we can do nothing about it.

“We’ve not trained the previous two days which has hindered us and we were slack with no energy from the crowd. But whether it is home and away it makes a difference. But at the end of the day we are professional footballers and are disappointed with how we played in the first half.”
