SEAN Chalmers proved too good for the chasing pack as he cruised to victory in the Inverness Campus 5K on Friday night.

The Maryburgh athlete took the 2022 crown with a winning time of 14 minutes and 15 seconds.

The Inverness Harriers runner was 30 seconds ahead of Shettleston Harriers athlete Lachlan Oates who crossed the line in 14.45 with Max Abernethy of Fraserburgh in third place with a time of 14.56.

Chalmers says he was pleased with his time to secure a comfortable victory.

"It was tough and pretty windy almost the whole way round. Being out in the front solo made it tough but it was a fast course.

"It equals my personal best so hopefully there is a bit more there."
