TAIN Royal Academy runner Constance Nankivell made a memorable debut with the Scottish Schools’ team at the Home Countries Cross Country International at Port Talbot when athletes of all ages converged on Margam Park to compete in a series of top flight races.

Constance was competing for the Scottish Schools’ team and performed superbly on her international debut.

The organisers decided to combine the schools’ race with the Under 20 women’s race so the pace was fierce right from the start. Constance showed great composure and gradually worked her way through to finish fifth in the schools’ competition and 18th overall.

There was a bonus when the team results were announced as the Scottish girls took a superb set of silver medals. Gold went to the Under 20 team from England and bronze to the Under 20 Scottish team.
