Ross County have announced that Stuart Balmer is to become the club’s new assistant manager.

Balmer has been working at the club for six months in a coaching capacity.

Club boss Derek Adams said “I am delighted Stuart has agreed to join my backroom team.

“He is familiar with the squad after working here for the past six months and he brings a good work ethic and provides stability to the football club.”

Balmer’s playing career saw him turn out for Charlton Athletic, Wigan Athletic, Oldham Athletic and Scunthorpe United.

More recently he has held coaching positions at SPL sides Hamilton Academical and St Mirren.
