The 26-year-old has joined the Grantown on Spey outfit, managed by former Alness manager Robert MacCormack after spending five years at the Tain club.

Lockett leaves Saints after the clubs came to an arrangement on his early release.

Lockett first signed for St Duthus in 2016 from amateur side Lochinver.

Over the span of six seasons, he played 74 times for St Duthus, scoring 34 goals.

This season, he was the club’s top goalscorer with 14 goals in as many appearances, including hat-tricks against Alness United and Thurso.

During his career, Lockett has also played for Golspie Sutherland before moving to play for Angels FC in Gibraltar.

Lockett was on the substitute bench for Strathspey Thistle on Wednesday night when they suffered a 9–0 hammering at Rothes.
