Strathpeffer cyclist wins silver medal at World Cycling Championships in Glasgow

STRATHPEFFER cyclist Fin Graham claimed a silver medal in the Men C3 1km time trial at the World Cycling Championship in Glasgow on Friday night.
The 23-year-old finished in second place at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome when he completed the distance in a time of one minute 06. 450 seconds.
He finished just behind Great Britain team mate Jaco Van Gass who claimed victory in 1.06.187 with Devon Briggs from New Zealand taking bronze in third place.
Graham says he was pleased with his performance to claim a silver medal at the championships.
He said: "The kilo is the one where Jaco is the man to beat," he said.
"He was racing in Tokyo when got the world record and for the past few years he has been top of the podium.
"It is nice to be pushing him for it, he is the one to beat and it is nice to have him as a team mate. If you can get near him you are going to be doing well against the rest of the world.
"It will be good battles over the coming years."
Graham also relished the chance to compete at a world championships in Scotland.
"It is once in a lifetime opportunity I grew up on this track and looking back how far I have come to race in front of a Scottish track makes it special."
Graham is due to compete in the scratch race on Saturday and on Sunday will compete in a 200m time trial and individual pursuit final.
