Stags honoured at end of season awards

Ross Sutherland held their end of season awards dinner last week, with five players receiving recognition for their efforts this past year.

Ross Mellis was named player of the year having led the scoring charts up until the last home game of the season – which Mellis missed having picked up an injury at Murrayfield.

Stags’ head coach John Mann said that it was Mellis’ reliability that made him a standout choice.

"Consistency was the biggest thing. I think he played every game bar the last two when he hurt his ankle.

"He made the move from the wing to 13 this year which was a big step up for him.
