Ross County may be forced to request that their Scottish Premiership game against Livingston on Saturday is postponed after illness swept through their squad.

The Staggies have been left with just eight fit players – including both goalkeepers Nathan Baxter and Ross Laidlaw.

The players had a scheduled day off yesterday, but training today was cancelled as County attempted to stop the spread of the bug.

There is a precedent of Premiership matches being called off at short notice due to illness, with Hearts' match against County's Highland neighbours Inverness Caledonian Thistle being delayed in 2016 when the Jambos only had eight available players themselves.

On that occasion Hearts still travelled to Inverness as they awaited a decision from the SPFL, and it could be a similarly late call made this weekend if County do submit a similar request.
