Ross County have confirmed the signing of former St Mirren defender Stelios Demetriou.

The 27-year-old Cyprus international played 31 times for St Mirren in all competitions last season, as they would go on to win promotion and lift the Scottish Championship.

Demetriou moved to Paisley in January 2017 and signed a one-year extension to his deal last summer, but was released as the Buddies looked to revamp their squad for the Premiership.

Stuart Kettlewell says that Demetriou's experience of winning in Scotland's second tier, as well as his versatility at the back, will prove invaluable for Ross County this year.

"We are delighted to have signed Stelios. Steven and I believe he will play a big part in the coming season largely due to his ability to play in a number of positions.

"Stelios played a number of games as St Mirren won the Championship last season which will give him a good understanding of the division and what it takes to be successful in it."
