Ross County will have home advantage in the quarter finals of the 2023/24 League Cup after being drawn against Aberdeen.

The Staggies secured their place in the last-eight of the competition with an extra-time victory over Airdrieonians, with Eamonn Brophy scoring a header to seal a 4-3 win.

Aberdeen, meanwhile, saw goals from Bojan Miovski and Leighton Clarkson ease them past Stirling Albion on Friday night.

Now, the two teams will meet in Dingwall between September 26 and 28 with a place in the semi finals – and a trip to Hampden – at stake.

The rest of the draw will see Kilmarnock host Hearts after the Rugby Park outfit picked up a surprise win over last season's winners Celtic, Livingston travel to Rangers and Hibernian take on St Mirren.

Speaking after the Staggies' win over Airdrie, Connor Randall insisted he had no preference for who County would play next in the competition.

"There's nothing we can do about it, so we'll just see who we get and get a gameplan together to try and beat whoever we're playing," he reasoned.

"We're just very happy to be in the next round."
