Ross County have confirmed the signing of midfielder Iain Vigurs on a two-year contract.

Inverness Caledonian Thistle had announced on their own social media that Vigurs was heading back across the Kessock Bridge yesterday, but the Staggies didn't confirm the deal until this afternoon.

Vigurs is returning to the club he made over 150 appearances for across all competitions between 2009 and 2013.

In his first spell in Dingwall, he was part of a County side that won the Challenge Cup and Scottish Championship playing alongside the likes of current County co-manager Stuart Kettlewell.

In a statement released on the club's website, Kettlewell said it was a great signing for the club.

“We are delighted to get Iain signed,” he said.

“Myself and Steven are well aware of his qualities and, having watched him numerous times in the Championship last season, we believe we have signed the best midfielder in the division.

“It’s a huge coup for the club to get Iain’s signature. He was in demand and we fought off competition from a number of clubs in Scotland and further afield.

"But we know exactly what Iain will bring to the table at Ross County. He is a great character, knows the culture of this football club and knows the standards myself and Steven will expect.

"Most importantly, he is great player who is vastly experienced and you know what you will get from him on the field week in, week out."
