Ross County's list of new signings this summer has reached double figures as William Akio signed a three-year deal in Dingwall.

The 23-year-old attacker joins from Canadian Premier League side Valour FC, and joins younger brother Victor Loturi in the Staggies set-up.

After turning professional in May 2021, Akio scored 10 goals in 43 games for Valour as well as providing a number of assists, earning him an international debut for South Sudan at the start of this year.

Akio was born in a refugee camp in Kenya to South Sudanese parents, qualifying him for the national team, before immigrating to Canada with his family and growing up in Calgary, where Loturi was born.

The elder sibling also runs a YouTube channel where he documents life as a professional and international footballer.

On completing the deal, County manager Malky Mackay said: “William is a player we have been tracking for a number of months and we are delighted to bring him to Dingwall.

"He has performed consistently and regularly at Valour FC and although he is still learning, he is an exciting addition to our group.

“William is an ambitious and driven player, and we look forward to developing him further in his time with us.”
