The striker scored both goals in the 2–0 win over Orkney last Saturday to send the Tain outfit into the semi final of the competition.

The victory sets them up with a last four clash at Nairn County A on Saturday, March 5 for a place in the final.

Before that, St Duthus are back on league duty this weekend and face Golspie Sutherland at Grant Park on Saturday,

Bruce (27) says their poor start to the season has ruled them out of title contention.

But with St Duthus undefeated in the last six games, the active school coordinator from Ullapool says they are confident they can lift silverware.

“Our season lies in the cup, we want to be competitive in the league but we are nowhere near where we want to be right now,” he said.

“So the cup is our main target for the season, we are in form so we feel confident going into it.

"The team have started to click, we struggled at the start of the season as we had a lot of new boys come in.

“But we are six games undefeated and the lads have got to know each other a lot better.

"Things are starting to click and followed it up with winning games, even when we have not been playing our best.”

Bruce is the club’s top scorer this season finding the net 14 times, but feels the best is yet to come from him.

“I am always quite critical and always try to find ways to do more and help the team more.

"Considering how the team is doing this season I am happy, but I am looking to do more.

"But as long the team win I am happy.”
