SHINTY: Kinlochshiel hit double figures as they beat Inverness B to win Women's Challenge Cup final

KINLOCHSHIEL ran riot in the Women's Challenge Cup final as they thrashed Inverness B 14-1 to lift the trophy in Newtonmore.

Kinlochshiel raced into a 7-0 lead at half time with Lorna Macrae scoring four goals and Lexi MacKenzie grabbing a hat-trick.

Isabelle Mackenzie scored two minutes into the second half to make it 8-0.

Inverness pulled one back immediately through Isla Macneil to make it 8-1 and deny Kinlochshiel a clean sheet.

But Macrae and Mackenzie both found the net twice more with Alaina Maclennan also scoring as Kinlochshiel lifted the trophy at full time.

In the Valerie Fraser Camanachd Cup final, Skye were crowned winners with a 3-0 victory over Glasgow Mid-Argyll.

Abbie Maclean scored twice in the first half with Caitlin Maclean scoring in the 65th minute.

Meanwhile in men’s shinty, North Under-21’s won the Caol Cup beating South Under-21’s with a 3-1 win at Oban.

Beauly star Euan MacCormick gave the North a 1-0 lead at half time. The South equalised on the hour mark through Scott Macvicar.

But North regained the lead through Ross Gordon before Archie Macrae killed the game off.
