SHINTY: Caberfeidh beat Kinlochshiel to move into last eight of MacTavish Cup

CABERFEIDH are through to the quarter finals of the MacTavish Cup with a 2-1 win over Kinlochshiel.

Craig Morrison gave the Strathpeffer outfit the lead after five minutes and held their lead going into the break.

Kinlochshiel equalised five minutes into the second half with a strike from Keith Macrae, but Caberfeidh scored the winner 10 minutes from time when Gavin McLauchlan scored the winner.

The win means they will host holders Kingussie in the quarter finals of the competition.

In the Premiership, Glenurquhart are still looking for their point of the season after losing 2-0 at Newtonmore.

Both goals came in the first half with Drew MacDonald giving them the lead midway through the first half with Cameron McNiven doubling their advantage three minutes before half time.

Kingussie remain top of the table as they made five wins from five with a 2-0 victory over Kyles Athletic.

Ruaridh Anderson gave Kingussie the lead after 22 minutes with Eoin Baikie doubling their advantage 15 minutes from time.

Skye are two points behind in second place with a 3-2 win over Lochaber. Skye race into a 3-0 lead. Stuart Callison pulled one back for Lochaber on the stroke of half time with Max Campbell reducing the deficit to one midway through the second half.

The matches between Lovat and Oban Camanachd was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

In the National Divison, Beauly remain top of the table as they hammered Oban Celtic 6-1.

Jack MacDonald and Finlay Maclennan both scored hat-tricks with Ewan Campbell grabbing a consolation for Celtic.

Fort William are in second place on goal difference after they beat Lochaber 4-0.

Graham Campbell scored twice with Lewis Clark and Cam Stephen also finding the net.

In North One, Inverness held league leaders Newtonmore to a 1-1 draw. Glen MacKintosh gave Newtonmore the lead but Ewan Campbell grabbed an equaliser four minutes from time.

Glengarry are one point behind after beating Glenurquhart 2-1. Jed Stoddart gave Glenurquhart the lead but goals from Steven Cameron and Nick Dalgety gave Glengarry the points. Beauly lost 2-0 to Lochcarron.

In the Sutherland Cup, Lovat beat Kinlochshiel 2-0 with Jamie Matheson scoring twice.
