SHINTY: Caberfeidh are on course for best ever finish in Premiership

CABERFEIDH are on course for their best ever finish in shinty’s Premiership after coming from behind to thrash Glasgow Mid-Argyll 5-2 in Yoker.

The victory keeps the Strathpeffer outfit in fourth place in the Premiership with two matches remaining.

Caberfeidh’s best ever finish in the Premiership was sixth place last season under former manager Jodi Gorski.

But Garry Reid, who was appointed manager for Cabers this season, is guiding his team on course for their first ever top half finish in the Premiership.

Caberfeidh did fall behind after 15 minutes when Calum McLay gave them the lead.

But Kevin Bartlett struck twice with Craig Morrison also finding the net to give them a 3-1 lead at half time.

Craig Anderson scored at the start of second half for GMA and reduced the deficit to one before Morrison completed his hat-trick.

Kinlochshiel suffered a 4-1 defeat at home to Oban Camanachd.

Keith Macrae give Kinlochshiel the lead after five minutes but suffered a defensive collapse as Malcolm Clark scored a hat-trick with Craig Macmillan also finiding the net.

In North Division One, Kinlochshiel Reserves recorded a 4-1 win over Inverness at Balmacara.

Rhu Macdonald and Zander Macrae gave the hosts a 2-0 lead at half time.

Skye Mackintosh pulled one back for Inverness, but Macrae grabbed his second before Seumas Martin killed the game off with five minutes remaining.

In North Division Two, Lochcarron kept their title challenge in their own hands when they defeated Boleskine 5-0 in Inverarnie.

Matthew Brady and Crisdean Finlayson scored twice with Lachlan Dean Morrice also scoring.

The victory kept them second and only two points behind leaders Lewis with two games in hand.
