Sean Lamont, a Glasgow Warriors and Scotland player, mucked in with boys of Ross Sutherland Rugby Club during their RBS Rugby Force weekend.

At one stage, he helped out in the game and was tackled by five boys and girls keen to prove Ross Sutherland are a side to be watched in the future.

It was the first day back for the kids at the start of the new season and what a training event they had.

Sean provided excellent support to the (P4-7) mini training and encouraged the junior teams.

There was a good turnout at the club with minis, juniors and senior players getting involved. The day started with a clear-up of the clubhouse in preparation for DIY work being carried out on the Sunday.

Saturday was mainly a family fun day for the kids, with games, barbecue and food on offer, provided by club volunteers. Thanks was given to the Sinclair family for their hard work in feeding the club members.

Sean signed autographs and chatted to families and players before assisting with the club raffle.

Signed shirts and balls, from Sean and Scotland captain Ross Ford, were raffled as prizes.

Club coach Rob Parkes thanked Sean for travelling to be with the club on this busy weekend and presented him with gifts including a Ross Sutherland shirt.

The day finished with a friendly game against a Caithness XV.

Ross Sutherland will be playing Dyce in a cup game tomorrow (Saturday, August 18), kick-off 3pm in Invergordon.

Training for the Minis and Juniors continues every Saturday morning from 10am to noon.
