Ross County defender Dylan Smith has been called up to the Scotland Under-19 squad.

The young Scots will be playing two friendly matches in Belgium during the next international break, taking on their hosts on Wednesday, September 6 and the Czech Republic on Saturday, September 9.

Smith had been a big part of the under-17 squad that qualified for this summer's European Championships, but could not go to the finals due to his first team commitments with the Staggies at the end of last season.

This call-up marks a first selection for the older age group for the newly-turned 17-year-old as Billy Stark looks to assess his options ahead of the Euro 2024 qualifying round which takes place in November.

County's teenager will certainly be hoping to impress and earn a place for the competitive matches, which will come against Serbia, Bulgaria and Andorra.
