ST Duthus will aim to keep their slim hopes of challenging for the North Caledonian League Division One title alive when they host Halkirk United at Grant Park tomorrow.

The Tain outfit’s chances of winning the division were almost extinguished last week after suffering a heavy 4–0 defeat against Golspie Sutherland.

After a tight first half, Golspie broke the deadlock 10 minutes after the break through Craig Ross.

Conor Cormack doubled Golspie’s advantage five minutes later before goals from Sean Munro and Cameron Sutherland in the final 10 minutes secured all three points.

Mathematically, Stuart Ross’s team still have a chance of clinching the title, but will require a lot of results to go their way.

St Duthus have only picked up five points from their six games in the league and have played one game more than the top three sides with four matches remaining.

Elsewhere in Division One, Orkney will be looking for their first win of the season which would lift them off the bottom of the table if they beat Thurso at The Dammies.

Meanwhile in Division Two, Loch Ness will be looking to get their campaign back on track when they travel to Sutherland to take on an improving Bonar Bridge at Migdale.

Inverness Athletic will welcome bottom of the table Scourie to Pavilion Park in Muir of Ord tomorrow.

Scourie were forced to forfeit their North Caledonian Cup quarter final match at Invergordon last week due to a lack of players.
