Ross-shire drivers set to compete at Snowman Rally

TEN Ross-shire rally drivers have been confirmed to compete in the 2023 Snowman Rally which takes place on Saturday, March 4.

Muir of Ord driver Scott Macbeth along with Elgin co-driver Daniel Forsyth who finished fifth last year, will be competing in their Fiesta R5 Pro4.

Jimmy Jack from Conon Bridge is also returning to action as with Rachel Matheson they will be competing in a Mitsubishi Evo 6.

Greg Grant from Alness with Morgan Redpath from Abriachan will be competing in a Ford Focus.

Ross Macdonald from Muir of Ord and Matthew Johnstone from Aberdeen will be competing in a Mitsubishi Evo 9.

John Morrison from Conon Bridge with Sinclair Young of Lairg will be competing in a Ford Fiesta R5.

Chris Baillie from Balmacara with Brian Foggo from Inverness compete Peugeot 205 gti.

David MacLeod from Maryburgh with Calum Fraser from Inverness will be competing in the Snowman Rally with their Peugeot 106 Gti.

Cailean Mackenzie from Gairloch and Callum Mackenzie from Peterhead will compete in a Ford Escort Mk2.

Scott Macdonald from Maryburgh and Davie Falconer from Inverness will be competing in a Subaru Impreza WRX C4.

Martin Crombie from Contin and Terry Mallin from Bothwell will be competing in a Subaru Impreza.

It has also been confirmed defending champion Michael Binnie from Cornhill on Tweed, along with co-driver Claire Mole, will be going for their third consecutive title.

At the time of going to press yesterday, a total of 100 drivers were entered on the unseeded list for the event next weekend.

The Snowman Rally is the opening of the Scottish Rally Championship which will consist of eight events that take place throughout the 2023 season between March and October.
