Ross-shire derby in Football Times Cup as Alness United face St Duthus at Dalmore Park

Alness United and St Duthus will be looking to transfer their winning start in the North Caledonian League season into the Football Times Cup.

The two teams are set to clash in the first round at Dalmore Park tomorrow afternoon.

Both Ross-shire clubs kicked off their league campaigns in impressive fashion with victories on the opening day of the season.

St Duthus started their campaign with a 4–2 victory over Halkirk United in Tain.

Ben Bruce opened the scoring after 17 minutes to put Saints in front at half time.

Finn As-Chainey doubled their advantage just before the hour mark.

But Halkirk came storming back to level the match.

Sam Barclay equalised in the 75th minute and two minutes later Bryan Reid equalised to make it 2–2.

But St Duthus fought back in the final 10 minutes to secure victory with Jake Lockett scoring twice to give St Duthus their first victory of the campaign.

Alness United defeated league champions Invergordon at Dalmore Park 2–1 last weekend.

Ryan McFee scored both goals for Alness with Kyle Macdonald pulling one back for Invergordon.

Also in the Football Times Cup first round tomorrow, Halkirk United face Thurso in the Caithness derby at Morrison Park.

Three league matches are scheduled to take place tomorrow afternoon.

Clachnacuddin A and Loch Ness are scheduled to face each other in Inverness. Sutherland outfit Bonar Bridge at set to kick off their campaign when they travel to Nairn County A . Orkney are set to welcome Inverness Athletic.
