Ross golfer jubilant after 'Seve challenge' success

A ROSS-SHIRE golfer proved he has plenty of drive by taking on and successfully completing a notorious challenge.

James Garrow, a member at Strathpeffer Golf Club, completed the so-called "Sevey Challenge" at The Belfry.

It involves putting the ball on the green from the tee shot at the 10th hole of the Brabazon.

His playing partners were Jim Marshall-Sandy McKenzie-Frank Byrne.

The Belfry has become synonymous with golf and is regarded as a mecca for professional and amateur players alike.

It lays claim to hosting more Ryder Cup matches than any other venue in the world and is steeped in tournament history.

It boasts two championship courses, sculpted from 550 acres of North Warwickshire countryside, and has witnessed some of the most dramatic moments in the history of the sport.

The Brabazon is an recognised and revered championship course.
