Keith Watson believes Ross County’s trip to Dundee tomorrow is a massive match for the Staggies.

Tuesday night’s results saw Dundee slip to the bottom of the Premiership table, five points behind County with a game in hand.

The last time they visited Dens Park, though, it was the performance of the season as the Staggies romped to a 5–0 victory.

While that is a nice memory to look back on, Watson insists County have to start all over again tomorrow.

“That was some performance last time, we were really clinical,” he recalled.

“It’s a totally different game now. They have signed a lot of new players as well in January, so it’s going to be a difficult game. It’s one that we’re looking forward to though.

“We’ll get the video work done on them, so we’ll be looking to come back up the road with three points.

“We go into every game looking to win, but Dundee are just below us, so if we go and win there it starts to create a little gap.

“We know it’s going to be difficult, they will be right up for it as well. It will be a tough game, so we’ll need to make sure we’re solid as a team and I think we’ve got the quality to hurt them.”

Dundee will be a different proposition this time.

James McPake lost Corey Panter, Jason Cummings, Alex Jakubiak and Leigh Griffiths last month – but brought in Jay Chapman, Niall McGinn, Saz Rudden and Vontae Daley-Campbell.

There will be elements, then, of the unknown for Ross County at Dens Park, but Watson is confident that all of the necessary preparatory work will be done before kick off.

“We’ve obviously got staff here that look at that, and we’ll go over all the information given to us,” Dundee United academy graduate Watson explained.

“We’ll do our video analysis, so going into the game we’ll be fully aware of what they can do, we’ll know all about them.

“We’ll look forward to going to Dens Park on Saturday.”
