Ross County have announced that no further action will be taken against Michael Gardyne after the club completed an internal investigation.

Experienced attacker was accused of making homophobic comments towards Alfredo Morelos during County’s designated Rainbow Laces fixture in the Premiership against Rangers on December 6.

Rangers’ players reacted furiously at the time, while Gardyne was booked for what Stuart Kettlewell later said was called foul and abusive language by the referee.

Reports surfaced that the Scottish FA had opened a probe into the matter, while County resolved to investigate the incident themselves.

The Staggies yesterday confirmed that their internal investigation had concluded, and they had deemed it appropriate to take no further action.

Gardyne had come on as a substitute against Aberdeen last Saturday while the club compiled their findings, though he was unable to prevent County from losing 2–0.
