Simon Murray named Ross County Supporters’ Club player of the season as end-of-year awards handed out in Dingwall

Ross County’s official supporters’ club have handed out their end of season awards to the players.

The fan-decided accolades amassed hundreds of votes across five categories, with the prizes handed out at the Global Energy Stadium tonight.

Yan Dhanda’s free kick against Hearts at the end of December was voted the club’s goal of the season.

Defender Ryan Leak was judged to be the Staggies’ signing of the season after joining on a free from Salford City.

Eli King, on loan from Cardiff City, was named the club’s young player of the year after a string of impressive performances from the 22-year-old in the second half of the season.

Josh Sims’ winning goal against Rangers in the final match before the split was voted the best moment of the season.

A special presentation was also made to Connor Randall, who recently passed 100 appearances for the Staggies, by interim manager Don Cowie.

The Ross County squad also came together to vote on two awards – the players’ young player of the year, which was won by Victor Loturi, and the players’ player of the year, which was won by Simon Murray.

That was just the first of two awards for club top scorer Simon Murray won the player of the season award after becoming the Staggies’ talisman in their fight against relegation.
